1.What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies, such as local and session storage, keep information on your device. We refer to all of these as “cookies”.
2.Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token | Keeps you signed in securely | Strictly necessary | Session / up to 1 week |
| Session storage: im:needs:v1 | Remembers your Help me choose answers in this tab | Functional (stays on your device) | Until you close the tab |
| Form drafts | Saves request forms so you can resume on a slow connection | Functional | Until submitted or until a retention period (to be confirmed before launch) expires |
| covva_consent | Remembers your cookie choice (analytics or essential only) | Strictly necessary | 180 days |
| covva_exp | Keeps you on the same version of a page while we test two designs (a random letter, no personal data) | Functional | 90 days |
| covva_lang | Remembers your preferred language across the site | Functional | 1 year |
| Session storage: covva:app-banner:dismissed | Remembers that you closed the Android app banner | Functional (stays on your device) | Until you close the browser |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 — only after you accept analytics in the consent banner; IP addresses anonymised | Analytics (consent required) | Up to 2 years |
3.Analytics
Where analytics is configured we use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation and Google’s Consent Mode, so nothing is stored or sent until you choose “Accept analytics” or tick analytics under “Choose for me” in the consent banner, in line with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). Choosing “Essential only” keeps analytics off.
You can change your mind at any time:
You have not made a choice yet, or it has been reset.
4.How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies you will not be able to sign in. Closing the browser tab clears session storage.
